Making Of Video and Development Update
Hello everybody,
today I’m going to give you a short development update. After the release and the first patch in April 2020, I got some valuable player feedback.
To Fish or not to Fish
Some players reported headache or a claustrophobic feeling. The problem was that the renderer had a fisheye effect. I worked on the problem and made it configurable in the game options. The gif below shows the difference between the original and the corrected version:
For the next version there are also some other things I would like to add. First of all, an .exe icon was requested. Further, I am working on controller support. When I finished this, there will be a new version of the game.
Making Of
In the meantime, I made a short video about how I made the game and how things work (roughly). If you are interested in more stuff like this, feel free to add a comment to the video:
People Playing “The Fire of Ardor”
Some people played the game and made a video of it. Thank you for doing this! It means a lot to me, since it spreads the word and encourages me to continue working on the game. You can find a playlist of all people playing the game here:
Thank you for reading! I will keep you updated.
Best regards, Carsten
